Xiangping has been an associate professor in Yangtze University in Hubei province in People’s Republic of China since 2006.  From 2004 until 2012, she has been done work in insect ecology and pest management, especially pest insects on vegetables. From 1993 to 2001, Xiangping received her B.S and M.S.in plant protection in Huazhong agricultural University. She received her Ph D. at the Institute of Zoology, Chinese academy of Sciences in 2004.   From 2011 December to 2012 November she is a visiting fellow in the Shelton lab At Cornell University.   Beside work, Xiangping likes to play badminton, table tennis and volleyball with friends.

王香萍于1997至2001年于华中农业大学获得学士和硕士学位，2004年于中国科学院动物研究所获得动物学博士学位。2004年至今于长江大学农学院工作，2006年晋升副教授。主要从事昆虫生态及害虫综合治理的研究，尤其是十字花科蔬菜害虫的综合治理。2011年11月至2012年11月于康奈尔大学昆虫系作为期一年的访问学者。

业余喜欢和朋友打羽毛球和乒乓球及排球等。
